Best ingredients for Hybrid Sangria in Aruba
Going to the market on a Saturday or Sunday morning is synonymous with smells and colors, but also with a great opportunity to choose the stall that will offer quality fruits and the best ingredients for Hybrid Sangria in Aruba. We go for simplicity and seasonal products, for our wines we have a wide international selection available to prepare the best sangria in Aruba.
Choice of wine
It doesn’t take much more to understand that since the color of sangria is red, the wine used to make it is also red. Traditional sangria is mixed with sugar, orange juice and citrus slices, and pieces of seasonal fruit. Lemonade and a splash of liqueur can be added, which can be,
– Cointreau,
– Cognac,
– or Port.
When making sangria, we look for wines made with fresh grapes, which have a little power and a lot of fruit. We avoid crianza, reserva and gran reserva wines, which partially age in barrels and can have a strong woody flavor that is not ideal for sangria.
Now you know which wine to choose for a sangria. Feel free to pair it with the best appetizers we offer at Hoya Lush.
The right fruits
First of all, we prefer to use seasonal fruit in sangria. We also choose ripe ones (but not too ripe) so that their flavors can transfer to the wine.
We do not hesitate to add other fruits according to the season:
– Oranges,
– Apples,
– Pears,
– Bananas,
– Peaches,
– Mangoes,
– Pomegranates…
You can purchase this drink at any time of the year at Hoya Lush, especially at Christmas.
Spices and other extras
Our advice: don’t forget the spices! Cinnamon (used in stick rather than powdered form) and vanilla will give even more flavor to your red wine sangria.
To spice up a white sangria cocktail to be very aromatic when tasting. Add cinnamon, star anise and ginger. This trio of spices brings very pleasant aromas to the palate, warm and sweet at the same time.
Variants of Sangria in Aruba
We replace red wine with white or rosé wine. It is very fashionable.
Although all rosés can be used in this recipe, the white wine should be dry to avoid the sangria being too sweet, a Chardonnay will also do very well.
We change the acid fruits (orange and lemon) of the traditional sangria for sweeter fruits such as white peach, strawberries, melon or pineapple.
Summer red wine
For hot days, we recommend our light and tasty food that spreads the whites and rosés, red wines occupy a privileged place in our choice of wines for the summer at Hoya Lush, we promise you a great tasting experience,
For lunches at Hoya Lush or sunny afternoons in July and August, we can say goodbye to most Bordeaux wines. as their powerful and full-bodied profiles would only make the tasting moment heavier, at a time when freshness and lightness are sought after.
Contrary to general belief, many red wines are best drunk chilled. When they have a fruity, light, fine and low-alcohol profile, we serve them at rather cool temperatures, between 12° and 16°C (54° and 64°F).
This way their different characteristics are best appreciated and the grape varieties are at the origin of wines that are perfectly suited to the long summer days and the fresh, light cuisine we offer at Hoya Lush.
Tequila Sangria
Sangria with Tropical watermelon is a hybrid version that combines the bitter taste of a margarita with the sweetness of sangria. The sugar, salt and cayenne rim garnish offers a burst of flavor in every sip.
For the rim garnish: In a small dish, combine the sugar, salt and cayenne. Moisten the rim of the glass with water, then with the glass upside down, run it through the sugar and salt mixture to coat the rim evenly. Remove the excess and set aside.
In a large pitcher, crush the watermelon and add the wine, tequila and lime juice, pour over ice in the prepared glasses and top off with sparkling water to taste.
